A distinctive vintage Kon-Tiki folding chair designed by Gillis Lundgren for IKEA, Sweden, circa 1970s.

Constructed from solid pine with a suspended canvas seat and back, the chair combines Scandinavian practicality with a relaxed, utilitarian profile inspired by traditional Swedish beach chairs. The exposed folding frame, warm pine grain, and simple textile panels give it an appealing rustic-modern character.

Its compact footprint and folding construction make it useful as occasional seating at a dining table, desk, or gathering space—and easy to store when not in use. An increasingly collectible example of early IKEA design.

The chair is unmarked and attributed based on its documented form, construction, and dimensions.
